no vip comps, the place is packed though. they're printing money from all the foreign and out of towners coming in and losing their money. Slots are the worst in the midwest. Customer service doesn't care and gives no comps. Food is very good. But can you justify a $40 buffet after you lose $1000 in an hour and they comp you $5 for a soft drink ?
VIP at Rivers Casino, stands for: View Idiot Person. When the Casino opened, it was possible to win. 3 years later... you can drop hundreds to thousands of dollars and leave there without a dollar in your wallet.
Depressing place to play, people are disgusted and out-raged by the constant loosing here.
Spoke to GM and his attitude was very poor, when you treat your high rollers poorly, then the average player is definitely not being treated well at all.
Staff people are wonderful but they too remark on the management style, most recently a employee mentioned a new rating system that evaluates their job, one strike and you are OUT. If an employer treats
their employees BAD, then my expectation of being treated well as a V.I.P. is not REALISTIC.
The worst casino I have ever been. Horrible service at the restaurant. The waiter did not bring the order correctly and instead of apologize he was smiling. At the casino the dealers were very rough. I will never go there again.
They have a decent amount of table games. Problem is they're very packed. usually the ones that are not packed are way out of my comfort zone. I got no problem wagering like 20 max on a single hand, but seriously, who is Rivers Catering to? It's an okay atmosphere, but I've been treated rudely, when asking about how mississppi stud is played to the dealer. He said it was like Hold'em. He didn't tell me I had to wager each time, I got to the streets. All the other games are decent. I wish there were more BJ Tables, and another 4 card table. And with the BJ tables, I would like other side bets offered like in horseshoe.
Overall, it's nice, and I like going if I got some money I can afford to lose (worse case scenario) And if I win it's usually no more than 100, but if I lose, it's at least 100, but no more than 200. Either way, it's okay a few times, but we have other casinos in chicagoland, so take your pick. Try it out maybe once if you want to. But the Grand Victoria is much better.
This casino is so close and convenient.....but I don't think I'll be going back. I'm going back to Horseshoe or Potowatomi. I have been three times, and never had a good win. In fact, have lost a sizeable sum each time. These slots are extremely tight. The casino is small and crowded. They do have a nice selection of some of the newest games. But if you can't win even a good pot once in a while....what's the point? My friends have had the same experience. Players club is a dud. Based on what I have spent I would expect some nice comps or discounts. But i get in the mail a $5 slot coupon. Five dollars? Really? How cheap is that? Not even a free buffet or free drink ticket? It's just not worth it. I'll make the longer drive.
