When I asked why, they said I hadn't used the free play at one point in the previous month, which I don't think was true. (It's possible I misunderstood.) I still go there a lot. They have a lot of games that I like, including a 2¢ video blackjack.

They also have the Shufflemaster blackjack with a $3 minimum, which is nice. I don't often play 21, but it's nice to have a low minimum.

As far as slots, my wife plays and she doesn't get as many mailers as she used to, and lots of promotions are midweek and not geared towards working people. But love the poker room a lot, good players, good dealers, free drinks at times.

I have advised them of this since there are friends of ours that have the same problem....they need to take into account the players that are more than a 2 hour drive away....they do have some fun machines...haven't hit a large payout there in the several years of going...in fact...haven't hit any drawings either....upstairs restaurant finally getting it together with a buffet that's reasonable but not outstanding.

My name is Josh and I run social media for Mardi Gras Casino. Just wanted to post here that Mardi Gras Casino continues to develop our slot floor with the launch of the largest penny progressive link in the country.

Consisting of all penny slot machines, the progressive link encompasses multiple slot machines (78) linked together so that every bet on every machine contributes to a growing Jackpot. Each machine has an equal opportunity of hitting the Jackpot, giving the player a better chance of winning larger sums. The room will be open today (June 14, 2010). Ten smaller progressive links are also available for play at Mardi Gras Casino.

Additional improvements to the gaming floor include the installation of 25 new themes scheduled to arrive later this summer and the completion of a new High Limit room. Relocated to a secluded area of the casino, the new High Limit room will offer VIPs a private area to relax and enjoy the casino’s top slot machines.

Las Vegas-style slot machines are located on the first and third floors of Mardi Gras Casino and offer a variety of denominations ranging from a penny up to $20.00. Some of the casino’s most popular slots include Royal Match 21 Blackjack, The Amazing Race, Sex and the City, Spin & Win Roulette, Quick Hit Linked Progressive, Slingo Community, Indiana Jones, Hot Shots, Fort Knox, Top Dollar, Lucky Lotto and Wheel of Fortune.

If you'd like to contact me, I'd love to hear from you, good or bad. Mardi Gras Casino is on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/mardigrascasino) and Twitter (@MardiGrasFL).

Thanks

Both poker and slots are good, and I like the variety and the number of machines that are out on the floor.

Player's Club was especially helpful to me as they explained a few of the promotions going on that I couldn't tell what they were by the name. I only grabbed a snack at the sandwich place on the first floor, so I can't say much about the eats, but what I got was good enough for me.

This was the second casino to open in S. Florida and when they first opened they had better paytables than the only other? casino, Gulfstream.

Mardi Gras had $1 9/5 Jacks or Better and Gulfstream only had 7/5.

Since then Gulfstream has improved their paytables to 9/5, plus they have $1 8/5 Bonus poker in 3-play, 5-play and 10-play. The Seminole Hard Rock, however, has $1 9/6 Jacks and $1 8/5 Bonus.

The quarter games at all three properties are about the same.
Therefore, based on that alone, I would have to give it four stars.

You might as well hand them your money rather than playing.

Mardi Gras doesn't even have any Double Double Bonus machines and go figure that out considering its one of the most popular video poker games out.

Mardi Gras is not nearly as nice as Pompano Park or Gulfstream and I don't see the appeal given the poor (very poor) payouts.

Try the Isle at Pompano Park at least their payout is 8/5.
