I have been visiting the Hard Rock since it was a bingo palor and usually came home with a wad of hundreds in my pocket from their Class-2 "Golden Sevens" machines. It was fun- winning sometimes and losing sometimes. I have to respectfully disagree with the owner and webmaster of this website Steve Bourie on his interesting analysis of what the payback percentage is on the slots and video poker machines at the Tampa Hard Rock casino. It is my opinion that the payback (and subsequent House Advantage) on the machines is between 80 and 88 Percent. These percentages would be in line with the Compact. That means that the House Advantage is between 12 and 20 Percent on each slot machine. This also means that gamblers can run through thousands of spins (trials) and receive nothing before finally reaching the very low payout percentage. These odds would be comparable to the House Advantage (Payout) on the slots at the Las Vegas McCarran Airport which are considered the worst payouts in all of Nevada. We know from an analysis by the "Miami Herald" and the public records of the State of Florida (that takes its cut) that the Tribe makes close to One Billion Dollars a year from the Tampa Hard Rock facility. Sixty to Seventy Percent of this revenue comes from slots. The best video poker payout is 9/5 in the high limit room at $50.00 bet per single line hand. There is no "Full Pay" video poker at the Tampa Hard Rock. I have gotten Royal Flushes at casinos all over the world. I recently had two great nights gambling in Maine casinos and won several jackpots. Do not expect to win anything at the Tampa Hard Rock. Wins there are extremely RARE. The only conclusion that I can offer the reader of this review is that the slots and short pay video poker machines should not be played in Tampa. My personal experience shows that you have to put in about ten times the necessary wager for a hand pay ie. to win $3,000, you must lose $30,000 and so on. Their "Xclusive" Club membership requires about a 28K quarterly loss. If you are a tourist, do not go there. If you must gamble at the Tampa Hard Rock, play the table games. The Baccarat Banker Bet gives a House advantage of only 1.8 percent with the rake (commission) included. Compare that to the slots. The Player's Club for slots also offers nothing but comp dollars to be spent at unhealthy restaurants and their bounce back free play just fits into the pattern I described above of the tighest slots West of the Mississippi. To their credit, they have finally opened some very nice rennovated non-smoking areas and some of the employees are very nice people who really try to do their jobs well. The customer service is actally quite good. Finally, do not vote "Yes" on Amendment Three in next November's election which would give the Tribe a monopoly on gaming for another twenty years. Nothing will change without competition. It is my opinion that no matter what the outcome on Amendment Three, the Golden Goose will finally be killed by the Courts and legislature. Eventually there will be competition. Why? There is simply to much money being made. What to do until that day finally comes? Take the money that you will lose quickly and instantly playing the slots at the Tampa Hard Rock and go to Biloxi. Any significant action can mean free comped plane rides, very nice rooms and free meals. The House always wins (even in Biloxi) but you will have some wins too and the playing experience is just more fun. All of the above is why I describe slot play at the Tampa Hard Rock as the worst gambling experience in the world.

I've been playing slots for a very long time. You have your good days and you have your bad days. Even on bad days when you lose, you at least get some playability. Up, down, bonus' then crash. At the Tampa hard rock, you lose. No ups, just downs, no bonus', you just lose. Think of it as having 10 hundreds, a thousand bucks, and flipping your vacuum cleaner over and every 3 minutes putting a 100 into the vacuum cleaner. That is what you will get for playability at this place. They also do not reward locals or give a rats ass if you come back.

I am writing to bring to light the truth about hard rock tampa.In all the casinos which are alot that i have been to and taken people on busses to hard rock tampa is soooo extremely the worst payback i have ever come close to experiencing. If you ask any local person that plays slots at hard rock the opinion us completely unanimous,I'm only wondering why upper management does not respect there customers any more than that,I'm dirty to paint this picture but I'm very downto earth and honest ,please hard rock listen to your customers,i predict something will change in the future because you can't take advantage of people that bad and stay in business,thanks for listening
