I use to love going to Mohegan Sun.  We are seniors and and either go by car or bus to Mohegan.  However, we along with other seniors have been disappointed with the slot machines inasmuch as they are cold and not producing any winnings. We are planning to drive to Mohegan this Sunday with a friend who is in the area from Phoenix, AZ.  She has traveled to Mohegan in the past and if we are disappointed in playing the slot machines, we will have to consider going elsewhere.  Do you have to be a "high roller" to be a winner?

I went to Mohegan back a few years ago but had a few horrible no payout at all, not even a 5 dollar win, trips so I have been going to Foxwoods instead.. Finally I decided to make the journey over to Mohegan to see if they changed and that was a mistake. The Food is unbelievable(BBQ restaurant was amazing), the drinks are good, the slot machines do not pay at all, and the dealers have no personalities at all. The layout of this casino is horrible tables are spotty and all over the place, the slot machines are mixed denominations and not clearly marked. The free music at the wolfs den is awesome and they got great bands... but still it is not worth spending the hour and a half to drive there. I will be going back to Foxwoods where I can win at least once every $20. Mohegan you disappointed me and my girlfriend.

Terrible video poker, maybe the worst anywhere. The few that are not bad do not give any points. The poker room is not well run or well placed, if you can find it, you will see no variety in games mostly no-limit. All other games are terribad typically found in indian casinos with little or no competition. Hotel is nice and expensive.

my girlfriend and i prefer Mohegan Sun, to any other casino, except maybe Vegas. i play video poker, and always do well, i'll win most times, or break even....few times i lose , but i can play for hours, i mean 6 to 7 hours....i usually bet a buck a hand, and really enjoy it. the buffet is the best, and the food court has many options for eating. it's our Casino of choice. My girl also plays for hours, and has a great time.

Mohegan Sun has recently decided to become unfriendly to video poker players. While the pay schedules seemed to be improving, the players club has decided to not award points to people who play 9/6 jacks or better or 8/5 bonus poker. Once my points are used up at their restaurants, I will be playing at Foxwoods.
