We stayed overnight recently before flying home from a Lake Tahoe vacation. The room was small and dated but only cost $39. We ate dinner at the Carvings buffet which was pretty good and I don't generally like buffets. Had breakfast at the Hash something or other and it was pretty good too. The casino areas are somewhat dated and a little smokey for me but then I'm a little sensitive to smoke. The slot machines seemed to be paying off enough to keep everyone playing. I played blackjack and was surprised to find the dealers were all bikini wearing young women who danced on a stage from time to time. Being a sixty year old man, I couldn't help but think how much fun my son would have had there. It took me a few minutes to relax in the setting - adapt, migrate or die as they say in the Wrangell Mountains. The only table there was room was a $5 minimum, that went to $10 shortly after I sat down, and was a single deck/hand shuffled. This slowed down the game a bit, which I enjoyed as I'm new to blackjack and can use all the time I can get. My friend, who is a much more experienced blackjack player, won't play at such a table as it's too slow for him. He waited for a spot at a shoe dealt table. I suspect a single deck would be great for card counting but I'm still trying to count to 21 quickly. Our wives got a laugh out of seeing the two of us playing with the buxom young ladies. We both walked away a few bucks to the good so I can't complain. I'd play there again. The Reno Harrah's isn't as nice as the Las Vegas casino and it's probably overdue to for an interior update.

Harrah's has a great buffet restaurant called Carvings Buffet at which we ate at on a recent visit to Reno. We were able to use the 2 for 1 coupon that is in the current American Casino Guide. The Cafe Napa is now Hash House a Go Go. The casino had the new Clue slot machine and the old Monkees slot machine.

I was reading some of the reviews for harrah's in Reno and must comment on our stay there in June of 2010. They have a
free shuttle from the airport and the driver was so nice. The front desk clerk very helpful. SLOTS were fun to play. Not too
many restaurants in the area, however, on 2 different occasions I had a worker come up to me and asked if I had eaten and
once I had, and the second time they gave me a voucher for 2 free buffets. Never had that happen before. My husband
rented a car & went to Sacramento, CA to visit a train museum and on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m., shortly after he left,
I hit a Blazing Seven machine for $1100.00. The slots were fun to play. Reno isn't like Las Vegas. There were homeless
people on the street, so I didn't wander out by myself. I did write the General Manager when I got home about the great stay
we had.

Harrah's has a great buffet restaurant which is expensive, but at least we were able to use a 2 for 1 coupon. The casino is in two buildings. It is in walking distance from Cal-Neva, Circus Circus, Silver Legacy and Eldorado.

March 23, 2011 on my last night of four in Reno, I stopped by Harrah's for some slot play. Was there less than 1 hr. Placed a $10 bill in a rather new, penny slot machine. Lost about $4.50 and hit a $1200 pay off. If I had only bet the max the pay out would have been over 33k. My trip to Reno was paid for with the push of a button.

Thank you Harrah's!
