If you are looking for a taste of vintage Vegas with a modern edge, head downtown to The D Las Vegas. Located on Fremont street next to the Four Queens, The D gets its name from a combination of “downtown,” owners Derek and Greg Stevens’ hometown of Detroit and Derek Stevens’ nickname.

The 34-story hotel at The D has 627 rooms and two suites. Guest can choose from a double queen or king room or a corner king premium room. Double queen and king rooms feature Serta mattresses with upgraded bedding and linens as well as a bathroom stocked with mini Bath and Body Works products, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and high speed internet. These rooms run from $19 up to $149 per night, depending on the day (note: rates do not include daily resort fee).

The premium corner king rooms are located from the 16th floor up and offer additional features such as a full-size sleeper sofa, cocktail table, laptop compatible safe, refrigerator and iHome clock radio. These rooms run from about $39 to $209 per night, depending on the day (note: rates do not include daily resort fee). And if you are looking to go all out, the property’s two-room luxury suites feature a full wet-bar with black marble countertops, two refrigerators, entertaining area features three flat-screen TV’s and expansive windows boast a beautiful view of the Las Vegas Valley. These rooms range in price from $149 to $599 per night, depending on the day (note: rates do not include daily resort fee).

The 40,0000 square foot casino at The D features various slots and video poker machines as well as table games including blackjack, craps, roulette, Spanish 21, Let it Ride, three card poker and Pai gow poker. They offer 10x odds on craps and all blackjacks pay 3-to-2. There is also a William Hill sports book and keno is played daily from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m.

If you’re looking for the vintage Vegas experience, head up to the second floor to play classic coin operated slots and Sigma Derby – the popular simulated horse-racing game.

Lastly, if you are looking for some entertainment, The D also has three bars and several shows, including Defending the Caveman, Laughternoon starring Adam London (a comedy/magic act), Marriage Can Be Murder (a murder mystery dinner act) and Frankie Scinta.
