Gold Coast Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, Nevada

A locals’ favorite, but also accommodating value minded tourists, The Gold Coast Hotel and Casino opened on December 21, 1986 under the ownership of Michael Gaughan, a local casino legend who is known for providing good games and good values for his customers.

The Gold Coast is located on Flamingo Road just west of I-15 and across from the Rio and the Palms

After completing two additional hotel casinos in Las Vegas, first the Orleans, followed by the Suncoast, Gaughan sold his interest in all four casinos to Boyd Gaming, but all four still offer excellent values for all types of casino-goers.

The Gold Coast Hotel and Casino is a 711-room resort destination located one mile west of the Strip and one-half mile from Chinatown. Surrounded by acres of free parking and two easy access parking garages, the Gold Coast also has a free shuttle bus that carries guests to its sister property, the Orleans, plus a stop at the High Roller observation wheel at the Linq near the Strip.  The shuttle operates seven days a week from 9:00am to 12:30am and picks up guests approximately every 30 – 45 minutes from the hotel’s Flamingo Road entrance.

The hotel offers standard rooms, premium rooms and deluxe suites with rates starting as low as $45, plus a daily resort fee. It also features a resort style swimming pool, a barber shop, beauty salon, free lounge entertainment and a fitness center. In addition, 30,000 square feet of meeting and event space is available for small gatherings of 20 people up to as many as 700 guests for a large event. As well as a 720-seat bingo hall and a 70-lane bowling center.

Guests can enjoy fine dining at affordable prices in the Cornerstone, featuring steaks and seafood. Ping Pang Pong offers authentic Asian cuisine, including award-winning Dim Sum, and was named as one of the 50 essential restaurants in Las Vegas by noted local food critics. It also is a perennial award winner in the Best of Las Vegas annual awards. Its sister property, the Noodle Exchange, features mini-Hot Pots. Looking for a buffet? The Ports ‘O Call buffet offers seven live cooking stations. TGI Friday’s is open 24 hours daily. Also on property are Java Vegas coffee bar which brews Starbucks brand coffee, a Subway, and a bowling center snack bar.

And for a quick “cheap” bite, hot dogs are served from a vendors cart daily near the Race & Sports Book. Have it your way with sauerkraut, onions or relish, or just ask for the “works” for only $2. They are usually open from around 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
