They cater to rich people on vacation. If you're local, don't look for any advantage in comps. Everything is expensive. I do like having video poker available. Other than that, I prefer Laughlin or Vegas.

I used to frequent this casino often. The odds do not seem very good in the high limit room and it was extremely hard to gain a status on their Player's club card. I am easily able to get to diamond or 7-stars in Vegas or the highest levels at the other local casinos. While the waitresses and casino attendants are pleasant, the valet and front desk does not seem to care about guests unless you're driving a Ferarri. You think Vegas rolls high, try north Scottsdale. And I grew up there when the Shea and Scottsdale was a 4-way stop sign. Treated so rudely by a greeter as I entered the reservations area I have not been back while I go to other casinos at least once per month. Sooory to say.

Slots are tight as a vice and be careful, max bet on one machine will be four dollars, and on a machine close by it will be fifteen and seems to be no rhyme or reason to the layout. Casino is smoky, how long will casinos cater to trash instead of making them smoke free? One would think if a casino was making so much money on their slots, the food and drinks would be reasonable, not so at talking stick, drinks are marked up 400% and the food is pricey too

Worst hotel I have EVER stayed at. Giant pool party with a bunch of drunk and high kids. There were syringes in the pool, half naked people - it was a mess. The customer service was the worst I have ever experienced. So rude and they smirked while listening to your problem. Nothing is worse than when your upset and you have a customer service jerk smirking. The showroom was horrendous. The manager at the showroom was a giant jerk. They gave us obstructed views for our $60 tickets. His solutions was to buy us a round of drinks - so we'd be drunk enough to not care to see the show?? What an idiot! Then he moved us right in front of a walkway where people walked in front of us the entire night. This hotel was literally like one of those commercials where everything you think can go wrong does and more. Save your money, don't go here. Or if you do, don't go in the pool, you will pick up a disease.

Awful front desk management. Very rude! They should not be working with people. Very smokey place and machines are extremely tight. You would just be depositing your money there!

Upon entering, I was struck by the lack of noticeable smoke. As I was getting my Player's Card, the employee beamed with delight and said she was happy that someone noticed. They have an improved filtration system that is supposed to be one of the best around. Still, you always get smokers sitting next to you, but I will not sit next to one voluntarily. I really used to like this place for about the first nine months or so after they opened. The location was near the high rent district of Scottsdale-Paradise Valley--meaning upper class area and very different customers from the casino down the road where everyone looks like they are spending their welfare check. So enjoying the overall beautiful architectural design of the casino and hotel, one can imagine that the guests who stay there likewise have fat wallets since their rooms are about as much as I make in a week. Always interested in the local culture (I mean men), it would seem that one could possibly hook up with a winner here but many times, truck drivers are more fun and more real than snooty millionaires. So, rare conversations leading nowhere, and I was not able to check out the dance floor or food. Now, about the slots--I found them pretty tight at first but I found about a half dozen that I liked to play and could count on always getting a bonus round. Coming into town every couple of months, I can track the changes in the local casino scene. So I come in several months ago and all the loose machines were taken out. Apparently, the casino knows which machines are loose and don't want me to know, too. So now they are gone and just the real tight ones left. There's a few, but too few now. If you must gamble, go to the Wild Horse for a better shot at winning something. I won't be back here for a while.

Talking Stick Resort is the flagship of the Salt River Pima Indian Community's casinos. It is quite new with the new Diamondbacks spring training facility nearby. They are definitely catering to the Scottsdale community with fancy nightclubs, lounges, bars, and restaurants. As for the gaming options, they are not very strong. All the slot machines are the latest and greatest, with low paybacks. The video poker is slightly better than their McKellips location, but still worse than the rest of the competition, which is also abysmal. Decent sized table games pit, but smaller than McKellips as well. They have slot versions of Craps and Roulette with real automated dice and wheels respectively. The best part of this casino is the poker room. It is the largest in the state and always has action. They even have a couple of bj tables to play at while you wait. The poker room is the reason to come here. I heard the rooms are quite nice, but expensive. I ate at the buffet. It is large and great in quality. However, it is quite expensive. It also serves breakfast. The customer service here is decent; the people are nice, but not involved and idle in their work. The casino is quite beautiful, but a bit dark, except by the side with the giant windows with a nice view of the desert and mountains. This casino is great to go to if you are looking for a resort experience or to play poker, but not if you want a good gamble.

After a couple of years of regularly visiting both Casino Arizona locations, I have decided to never gamble at EITHER location again. These Indian casinos by law CAN set their machines to pay-out at least 25% lower than the Las Vegas casinos which makes it next to impossible to ever win. This has gotten worse and worse since the new "Talking Stick" resort has opened. They must be trying to make up for their losses because no-one I have spoken with since the opening likes the new casino one bit. There are zero "Quarter" Keno machines. Second, I changed the address on my players account in early August and they surprised me by upgrading me from a classic to a silver level. I visited about 3-4 times that month and then in September I did not receive my "PERKS" ($15 - 2x a month) at all. I was told that they raised all the playing levels and players have to play at least $300 each visit to receive any perks. I told them I will be taking my business elsewhere! Go to Vegas because at least there you will have a shot at winning some of the time instead of feeding your money to the bottomless pit called CASINO ARIZONA!!!!!!

The poker room is very large with plenty of elbow room between the tables. The dealers were friendly and competent, moving the game along but taking time to interact with the players. At my 3-6 limit table the competition was fairly soft; two players would consistently call bets or raises until the river and then fold.

The cocktail service was practically non-existent. I played for about 4 hours and saw a waitress twice.

All in all, I'd be happy to play there again; I just may have to bring in a flask!

Nice and clean. Friendly dealers. Two different 21 areas, lots of options. I've never heard any live entertainment, I don't think they have any.
